A Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer Apprentice is an entry level position in the USAN Network
Operations Center (NOC) which is the first point of contact for our customers. This position exposes and
trains the employee in the support of Service Hosting. The Apprentice is responsible for working on a shift
of 3-4 Techs/Engineers and, through training, becoming a contributor in the day-to-day tasks required of
the NOC. Since the Network Operations Center is a 24×7 operation, these positions require shift work. All
applicants will be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally in the English language.
  • Ability to work well with a team in a fast paced, constantly changing environment and follow instructions from management and senior colleagues.
  • Exhibit customer service skills and a dedication to the customer service experience.
  • Dependable to be at work during assigned shifts and to complete work as expected.
  • Ability to multitask and meet specific goals set by management.
  • Familiar with documenting procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, follow through, and see tasks to completion.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential basic job functions
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required:
Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum education of high school graduate or attained GED. Work experience whereby can be referenced to exhibit employee contributions but preferably in the area of Telephony/Network/or Contact Center.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
This job is located in Norcross reporting to the Network Operations Center Manager. Successfully
fulfilling the duties as a NOC Engineer Apprentice will prepare and qualify the employee as a candidate for
a NOC Engineer I position. These accomplishments will position this individual as a valuable resource not
just within the Network Operations Center but other areas of the growing USAN company.
