USAN is looking for a Telemetry Engineer to join the operations team. The Telemetry Engineer with be responsible for managing the monitoring of all existing infrastructure and ensure that monitoring is automatically enabled for new infrastructure. We are looking for candidates that are well versed in monitoring tools like Nagiaos, Consol, PRTG, Solarwinds, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Act as monitoring tool Administrator.
  • Act as a point of contract for monitoring related incidents
  • Identify and remediate gaps in the monitoring environment.
  • Create custom monitors and sensors for in-house developed products.
  • Integrate monitoring data into an event management system.
  • Transition legacy systems from existing tools to modern tools.
  • Creating meaningful incident management workflow including training and documentation
  • Develop executive dashboards and scorecards to visualize data in simple terms
  • Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure full monitoring of all existing infrastructure and ensure that monitoring is automatically enabled as part of spinning new infrastructure
  • Manage the operationalization of enterprise-wide monitoring

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of monitoring systems.
  • Advanced working knowledge of integration of monitoring systems with ticketing & event tracking systems.
  • Experience building and optimizing monitoring clients in a large multi-location environment.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on monitoring systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with different types of monitoring solutions and monitoring techniques.

Technology

  • Experience with monitoring tools: Nagios, Consol, PRTG, Solarwinds, ManageEngine, Zabbix
  • Experience with ticketing and eventing systems: ServiceNow, Splunk, SumoLogic
  • Experience with security solutions: LogRythm, Cisco Prime.
  • Experience with AWS cloud resources : EC2, S3, SSM, Cloudwatch
  • Experience with configuration as code systems: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Cloudform, etc.
  • Experience with scripting languages: Python, Bash, etc.
