USAN Achieves Payment Card Industry (PCI) 2.0 Certification
NORCROSS, GA – August 2, 2011 – USAN, Inc., a provider of multi-channel customer engagement solutions, announced today that it has successfully completed a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) 2.0 assessment and received a PCI Certification, enabling the company to provide secure credit card transaction processing, data storage and transmission.
“Credit card usage continues to grow through the expansion of purchasing channels such as e-commerce and customer contact center environments,” said Steve Walton, President and CEO at USAN. “USAN’s PCI certification confirms our ongoing commitment to providing secure payment processing and cardholder data protection using the latest risk-mitigating technologies and practices.”
The PCI Data Security Standard is a set of security policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure that all companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment. The standard was developed by the PCI Security Standards Council, an independent body formed by leading financial service companies to develop and disseminate implementation of security standards for payment account security.
“By implementing a plan which goes above and beyond the minimum requirements of today’s regulations, USAN is a step ahead of many companies which continue to struggle with ever-increasing compliance and security needs,” said Jerry Wyble, VP & Practice Manager, at CompliancePoint, Inc.
To earn the PCI certification, USAN underwent a thorough examination by an independent, PCI-certified auditor. During the audit process, USAN demonstrated that its infrastructure, operations, and processes exceed the highest security standards in the industry.
